About Me
About Coach Tash...
Once weighing 260lbs and being in a size 22, at the age of 20, I knew a change was needed. I was two sizes away from maxing out at the clothing stores—and the internet and ordering clothes was not an option back in 2001. Additionally, I was bordering on high blood pressure and needed medication to control it. I knew I had to do something, but didn’t know much about losing weight back then. I decided to cut calories and walked twice a day—an hour at a time. I lost about 40 lbs this way, but then gained some back from having a baby.
Now that I was lighter, I began to RUN! I could not run at 260lbs, nor did I know how. I became an avid runner, crushing 3-14 miles a day as my stamina improved. I ran several 5K’s and even did a few half marathons which were amazing accomplishments. However, I ran SO much that I messed up my IT bands and it was painful to get down on my knees. I suffered through that pain for almost a year before going to physical therapy because I can be stubborn like that.

In the meantime, I kept moving! I took bootcamp classes, Zumba classes (I considered becoming a Zumba instructor), step and was happy to be moving! By this time, I’d lost 55-60lbs and was flirting with 200lb’s on the scale. I was so excited to get UNDER that number after seeing 2-something for so long. I had to keep GOING!
Though I was losing weight, I was starting not to like how I looked. Soft, skinny-fat, loose was what I saw when I looked in the mirror, and by this time, I was in my early 30’s. There has to be something I can do about this because this is NOT the way, I thought. I didn’t lose all this weight to not like how I look. The beast in me awoke. I had done so much cardio, and was so concerned about losing weight, that I compromised muscle loss just to see that number go down. Of course I didn’t know this at the time.
I printed out workouts from Bodybuilding.com, but didn’t know how to execute them properly. I wandered around the weight room not knowing what machine’s were for, or how to use them, and I didn’t want to bother other people. I saw the exercises on this website and that website, and didn’t know how to put them together for maximum effectiveness. I will just have to figure it out.
A gentleman by the name of Martin Hudnall had to see me struggling, but TRYING for him to decide to take me under his wing. This was the guy at the gym you did NOT interrupt for ANYTHING because he would eat you for lunch. He took me under his wing and began to show me what to do, how to do it, what order to do it. Myself and my gym buddies would WORK to not waste his time, grateful for every nugget of info he would throw our way.
I continued to push, lift, and grind lifting weights, by this time weighing 190-195lbs approximately and still had to navigate, moving as a military spouse, having another baby, suffering a significant loss with the death of my beloved father, and finishing graduate school to earn my Master of Social Work degree.
Though I kept moving, I realize that some are in need of support to reach their health and wellness goals. I think, if I’d had support in my 20’s, I would have been healthier earlier in my life. I aspire to be the support to others that I did not have early on in my fitness journey.
What makes me unique as a Coach is:
-
I’ve BEEN there. Walked the walk of the person struggling to reveal their inner beast.
-
I am a practicing Psychotherapist and understand the challenge of mental roadblocks which can impede and hinder progress.
-
I am still walking the walk, learning, growing, and willing to impart knowledge upon those who want to take control of their health.
-
I support my client’s in teaching them the what/how/why so when our time together is over, they have tools to keep them going on their own journey.
I have been fortunate on my journey to run several 5K’s, 3 Half Marathons, 1 Spartan Super, 1 Spartan City, and 1 Spartan Sprint. I earned the title of GBO Figure Overall Champion in 2016. More recently, I earned the title of Florida State Championships Women's Bodybuilding Champion Overall as well as Master’s 35+ Champ for Women’s Physique. In 2025, I am seeking to earn my pro card.
I went on to win Overall Champion in April 2024 at Mel Chancey's Championship Muscle Classic for Women's Physique and Women's Bodybuilding. I also took home 1st place for Women's Bodybuilding at the NPC Natural Grand Prix May 2024. Additionally, I won 1st place at the PCA Gainesville Muscle Classic for Women's Physique and Women's Bodybuilding in September 2024.
Whether your goal is to get off your sofa, walk into a gym and know what to do, or to improve your health, let me support you in making this your year to unleash your inner beast to be your best at Beast Elite Fitness!
